BEST PLACES TO HIDE HIDDEN CAMERAS

Deciding where to put your hidden camera is important before you make a purchase

Hidden cameras for both security and monitoring are used in businesses and homes alike, and they have become increasingly popular due to their affordability. However, a “hidden camera” is somewhat ineffective if it is easily spotted, which is why effective placement is one of the most important parts of installation. Finding the right places in a home can be difficult, so here are some helpful ideas for making your hidden camera invisible.

Many people find that the living area is a good place to install one of these hidden cameras. One of the reasons is because it does receive the most traffic in a home, and if you have babysitter in the home, this will be the mostly likely area for her to be in. In this room you will find an endless number of options for storage.

To begin with, many people find entertainment centers to be the best option. Because it is full of many different electrical items, most people won’t pay attention if they notice another device.

For a wider angle, consider using a mini security camera or bullet camera that is barely visible at a distance and mounted on a curtain rod. Most people spend very little time inspecting curtain rods. Some mini security cameras have what is called a pinhole lens that requires only about 1/16″ hole to see through. These type cameras could be placed behind greeting cards or any object that you can poke a small hole through. If located on a shelf or entertainment center usually hiding or blending in the wires is not a problem.

Bookshelves will often prove themselves to be a great option. Because of this, a number of companies have designed hidden cameras that look like books that can blend into any collection. Of course this is only one of the options you can choose from. Other companies make cameras that look like mirrors, clocks and a cigarette lighter. In fact it is becoming a regular occurrence to have everyday objects contain the cameras that keep us safe.

These suggestions will also work in other parts of the home as well. You can also have your camera inside of a flowerpot, or the light switch. Since you can get a wide angle viewing area, you can see more of a room or even the hallway. In a children’s area, there are some other options too. You might consider a clock shaped camera or personal computer station that works similar to an entertainment center. If your child is the main concern, consider getting a camera and placing it in their stuffed animal, toy car, or for above the crib, one that fits into the mobile.

You will find that there are an endless number of shapes and sizes of these hidden and mini security cameras. Keep in mind the best idea it to make them blend in or as hidden as possible in the environment you need to keep an eye on. Deciding where you might put it is important before you make a purchase, although if you already have it, take the time to determine what section of your home would most benefit from it, while it remains out of sight. If people can see it, it isn’t a hidden camera.
