As the car races down the highway, the crash happens all too quickly. The front bumper crunches against the car ahead. The hood’s steel crumples. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data show that 63 percent of the teen deaths in 2017 happened with multiple teen passengers in the vehicle, and more than half of teen crashes occur at night.
