Teen Driving and Speeding Deaths:

A Growing Statistic

Law enforcement agencies have begun using real time GPS tracking devices to monitor where their officers were at any given time, primarily to help increase response time in emergency situations as well as for their safety. Eventually this GPS technology became a standard for private delivery companies wanting to make sure their drivers were not using company vehicles for personal use on company time. This also allowed better routing of dispatched service, saving on gas, wear and tear mileage, and maintenance of company vehicles while increasing overall productivity.

Recently there has been an increased demand for real time GPS tracking by parents who have teens that are new drivers. Statistics show that
teen driving between the ages of 16-19 years old are four times more likely to get into speed related accidents than those of their older counterparts. Studies also show that 15% of all speed related deaths were in this 16-19 year old age group. Because of these factors, teenage driver insurance is as much as 25% higher than of older drivers.

The same GPS technology that was once only available for only law enforcement is now affordable for consumers to use in their personal vehicles. Lisa Sullivan, the parent of a sixteen year old son who is a new driver, installed a TrackStick Pro GPS Tracker unit in the car after her son was issued two speeding tickets within the first month of getting his license. I need to trust my son, and protect him. Sure he's not happy with it, but when it comes to his safety in my car, it's the next best thing to actually being there. Lisa explained. She could now monitor her teen where he went and when, receiving immediate notifications of any questionable driving habits. A week after installing the device she received a text message alerting her that her vehicle had gone over the legal 65 mile per hour speeding limit. She got on the phone and called her son right away and told him she knew he was speeding. He had no idea how where she had installed the FleetTRAK in her car. As a result Mrs. Sullivan and her husband decided to take away their son's driving privileges for 2 weeks.

Lisa commented, This was so easy to use and the best part was the text message alerting me that my son was speeding.
Tracking my teen has never been easier. I can sleep well knowing that I am a guardian angel passenger watching over him every time my babys out.
