TODAY national investigative correspondent Jeff Rossen goes behind bars to interview David Solano, who's serving 25 years to life for robbery, and estimates he's mugged more than 100 people. Now Solano reveals how to avoid becoming a victim of people like him.

Not surprisingly, one of the best deterents in fending off an attacker of any kind is noise. Loud noise! Solano mentions personal alarms and electronic whistles as being two of the best deterents to send a mugger packing. However, The best self-defense weapon, he

states, especially for women, is Pepper Spray and MACE. But the spray must be readily available and not buried in the bottom of a purse. It must be in the hand or on a keychain so that it can be brought up in moment's notice.
