| Blow Guns Over 40,000 years ago, the first blowguns began to appear in many different parts of the world. Although crude, these primitive weapons were extremely accurate. It is not known exactly where blowguns originated, however, it is generally believed that they appeared simultaneously in many parts of the world. Back then, blowguns were made from bamboo or other hollowed out woods. I had made a makeshift target out some 2x4's, an old sleeping pad from my Army days, and some duct tape. We were sitting on the front porch with our brand new blowguns; neither of us had used one before.
